Marci Mitchell

Everyone has had that moment when you are listening to the radio or walking through a crowded barroom and you hear a song that makes you stop dead in your tracks and wonder - who is this? Marci Mitchell is one of those artists. With a fresh style all of her own, she combines classic country with a rock edge. And much like her music, Marci is a mix of classic with a little edge.

Marci began performing at the age of 8 while singing for customers in her mother’s beauty shop and calling for a local square dance club. Influenced by a long line of country greats, she writes raw country music with a rock influence, while staying true to her country upbringing. She draws on her own personal life experiences to write songs like "Road Trip," "Sucker for a Small Town" and "Lovers to Friends" and presents those stories with strong vocals and an honest sound that is both honest & unique. Marci's fun-loving, energetic personality combined with her hard work and desire is sure to continue to win fans over nation-wide and supply them with her distinctive style and fresh sound for years to come.

Marci grew up in a small town in Southwestern Missouri where she graduated in the top ten of her class and earned a full ride to play volleyball in college in nearby Kansas. Although she knew her yellow-brick road was going to lead her to Nashville, she graduated with a B.A. in English and even leant her voice to the choirs while there. Armed with little more than a dream she headed to Music City where she hit the blacktop running. In less than a year’s time in Music City, she had completed her self-titled CD and was excited to hit the road with her band and share this debut project with the country.

Since then, Marci has exposed her music to nearly 38 states and has found a place with her fans as a fresh new artist that isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty - an attitude that was rewarded when her song It’s a Guy Thing stayed in the top ten for two straight months on The Heartland Independent Country Music Chart. She has shared numerous stages with many of country music’s hottest stars including Brooks n Dunn, Blake Shelton, Darryl Worley, Trent Willmon and Montgomery Gentry, just to name a few.

While touring, Marci spent much of her time writing songs for her sophomore album and is proud to be able to have her much anticipated release of the project, “Road Trip”, available now. The new project is a mix of true country with an edge and is a genuine testament to the work and experiences that have went into the making of this album. Three of the project’s songs were produced by co-writer and friend, Mark Oliverius (Lorrie Morgan’s long-time band leader) and the rest was completed where the whole story began, with Kenny Royster, who produced her debut album. “There was a familiar feeling with Kenny – my gut just told me that I needed to go this way with this project. Kenny pushes me and never lets me get away with anything that is less than perfect, but he also understands my style and lets me be myself”.

Marci & her band continue to travel two-lanes and interstates taking their sound to the fans wherever and however they can reach them… and she is still lovin’ livin’ the Road Trip!
